Arnold Gorske, MD
Arnold Gorske, MD is editor of the Health Education Program for Developing Countries. He is also Specialty Coordinator for Community Health and Primary Care for Global Health Outreach, and a member of the Healthcare Missions Best Practices Working Group.
The Health Education Program for Developing Countries enables the integration of primary care and community health services at all three levels of the WHO healthcare pyramid (Hospital, Clinic and Church/Community). It also enables short-term missions teams to have a long term impact by introducing desperately needed, evidence-based health education services. The goal is to provide the very best lifesaving information necessary for use by team health care providers, as well as for host-country pastors and their communities.
Dr Gorske began his work with people of developing countries over 25 years ago as a Navy pediatrician in the Vietnamese refugee camps, and has also had over 25 years experience with the development of health education/training programs.
He served as team leader for the International Red Cross in Iraq at the end of the first Gulf War, followed by over 40 short-term medical missions to numerous countries throughout the world.
He has provided long-term missions care to indigent Indian families at Foundation for His Ministry’s medical clinic in Baja, Mexico from 1994 to present.
He has also had years of training and experience in medical staff administration, credentialing, quality improvement/risk management, as well as additional positions of responsibility for the accreditation and quality of medical care provided by hospitals, clinics, and medical missions.
