Greg & Candi Seager

Greg and Candi Seager are Registered Nurses. They both have an extensive backgrounds healthcare ministry. They are the managing directors of The Christian Health Service, an interdenominational, exclusively medical, missionary sending organization.
The Christian Health Service is dedicated to connecting health professionals with short and long-term health service opportunities in hospitals and communities around the globe. They prepare, equip, and send healthcare professionals (medical, nursing, surgical, and allied health) to care for Gods’ global community.
From 2004 to 2006 they served as managers of Mercy Ships Strategic Health Initiatives, the department that designed, monitored, and evaluated Mercy Ships community health initiatives.
Prior to serving with Mercy Ships they were medical mission team coordinators for a Miami based mission organization, leading six to eight medical mission teams per year for several years.
They are the authors of Operating Responsible Short-Term Healthcare Missions. Greg and Candi live in San Antonio TX with their daughter Corinne.
They have two adult daughters Amanda who lives in San Antonio and Stephanie who lives in Ft Lauderdale.

Course Description: Designing Medical Mission Orientations and Courses.
It has been said the healthcare missions will either build confidence in the local health system or they will diminish it. Has your Church or organization ever sent out a medical mission team, or will they in the future? Do you know what standards to share with them to prepare them for service?
Lack of adherence to international practice standards has caused serious harm in some communities. The potential for harm in medical and healthcare missions is very real. Do you know what to share in their pre-trip orientation and training to assure teams first DO NO HARM?
This workshop reviews those key competencies healthcare teams need to know prior to service. We will also provide your Church or organization with medical mission orientation course template to prepare your teams for service. It is our prayer it will help you prepare and equip your healthcare teams to care for Gods’ global community.
CME/CEU Summary: This course will review relevant medical, nursing and pharmacovigilance standards for community based practice in developing countries.
