Kathryn White, M.D.





After graduating from college, Katy White developed an interest in cross-cultural health and issues of poverty while spending a year doing health-related missions work in the garbage dumps around Mexico City, Mexico in 1991-1992. She completed her medical school training at University of California San Diego in 1997. She also obtained her Masters in Public Health degree from San Diego State in 1997. During medical school, she did research and outreach work amongst migrant workers in the San Diego area.


After completing a Family Medicine residency at Long Beach Memorial Medical Center in 2000, Katy was committed to working as a physician among the underserved in urban Los Angeles. She worked for seven years at South Central Family Health Center in South Central Los Angeles, then spent two years at St. John’s Well Child and Family Center in Compton, California. She is now working part-time at Los Angeles Christian Health Centers in East Los Angeles, California. She is an active member and board member of the Christian Community Health Fellowship. She is married to Bill White, a pastor at Emmanuel Reformed Church in Paramount, CA, and has two children aged 8 and 10. Her dream is to open a faith-based health clinic in the Paramount/ Compton area.
