
Cynthia B. Hale, M.D., M.P.H.
Dr. Cynthia B. Hale served for 25 years as a medical missionary in the country of Nepal, alongside her husband, Dr. Thomas Hale, Jr. Dr. Cynthia Hale is a pediatrician cum public health educator. Initially, her medical practice was in a rural mission hospital; later, she trained and supervised community health workers in one of the districts of Nepal. Her final assignment in Nepal was as a Visiting Professor of Community Medicine in the government medical school in Kathmandu.
After returning to the United States in 1996, the Doctors Hale remained with their mission, Interserve USA, as featured mission speakers in other countries and in the USA at CMDA conferences, Project MedSend Dinner events, church missions conferences, medical schools, etc.
Since April 2005, Dr. Cynthia Hale has been serving on the Board of Directors of Interserve USA. Currently, she is leading an international outreach team from her local church in outreach to the Nepali-speaking refugees being resettled in Albany, New York. Her husband Tom’s books on missionary life in Nepal have long been highly acclaimed. Updated June 2009
